Tampa's Amphitheatre fire: Saturday's Morgan Page concert canceled
This is no real surprise, given the devastating fire that ripped through Ybor City's dance club the Amphitheatre on Wednesday night. But Morgan Page's concert there this weekend is canceled.
The top DJ was scheduled to perform at the Amp on Saturday before the fire hit.
"I was saddened to hear the awful news about the fire at Amp Tampa," Page said in a statement. "It’s one of my favorite clubs to play. We’re working on figuring out when I can come back to Tampa to make up for this cancelation."
Refunds for tickets already purchased will be issued at point of purchase, the Amp wrote on Facebook.
Some of the Amp's regular DJs have also posted about the fire.
"not fun to watch the place you called home and grew up in... Burn to the ground," Nerd Rage posted on Facebook.
"The week before I started my residency at Amphitheatre had 30 people," DOCO posted to Facebook. "The first Saturday had 300. When I left 3 years later, there were 1,500. Tampa will never be the same. #RIP Amphitheatre. The dance music community will rise again like a Phoenix. Keep the music alive Tampa Bay!"
