Tampa's Sentries talk about their infrequent shows, sludge rock, opening for Underoath and more
Tampa "grunge-gaze" band Sentries hasn't played a gig in six years. What better way to get back into the swing of things than by opening for Underoath at a reunion show in March?
"All of us know each other from a bunch of different bands," said bassist Nate Murray. "We all came up from the same time frame, and they just happen to be in Underoath and go do awesome and big things. I work with a couple of dudes in Underoath. ... They wanted a hometown, punk, local show, so they sent us an invite, and we gladly accepted. It was our second show ever."
Get ready for Show No. 3, coming Saturday at Fubar in St. Petersburg alongside Set and Setting, SPAR and Disevered.
