The Postal Service coming to Hard Rock Live in Orlando
Get ready to buy your tickets, because this is a show that probably won't be coming around again anytime soon.
The Postal Service -- the adored, reunited indie-glitch-pop duo comprising Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard, above, and DNTEL's Jimmy Tamborello -- is coming to Hard Rock Live in Orlando, their only Florida date on a summer reunion tour. The gig is June 5, tickets go onsale Friday (for $36-$56, click here) and we would be totally stunned if this show doesn't sell out well in advance.
The Postal Service are best known for their hit Such Great Heights from 2003's Give Up, an album so adored that it prompted Gibbard and Tamborello to recive a decade's worth of questions like "When is The Postal Service getting back together?" and "When is The Postal Serivce going to release some new music?"
The answer to both questions, as it turned out, was 2013, just in time for Give Up's 10th anniversary. Two new Postal Service songs have been released, and a full-fleged tour -- complete with Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis, who provided plenty of vocals on Give Up -- will take place throughout the year.
To get you excited, here's a Postal Service studio performance from 2003. Watch it.
