Video: Free XXXTentacion concert in Tampa canceled as police break up fan mob outside
A free concert by controversial rapper XXXTentacion that was scheduled for Saturday night in Ybor City was canceled at the last minute due to thousands of fans flooding the street outside the venue.
Promoters Dope Entertainment said the show, which was only announced a few days ago, was canceled because fire officials at the Orpheum deemed it a "safety hazard."

XXXTentatcion went on Instagram Stories to tell his side of the story in a series of video clips:
"Tampa, my deepest apologies. I drove all the way down here, I drove four hours just to basically have the show canceled on me. Apparently because it was over capacity, there was at least 3,000 to 4,000 of you outside, and … the venue only could support 750. As far as the new free show, I’m going to try to and get a free show going, but that was the only venue that wanted to work with me, but you just bear with me, I’m going to try to work this out. For now the show is canceled, not due to my choice, it was just the venue, and the fire marshal said we could not do the show, so the show is canceled, I apologies, my deepest apologies."

One reason the last-minute concert was so heavily hyped: XXXTentacion's just-released debut album, 17, is expected to debut as high as No. 2 on the Billboard 200. After the incident, XXXTentacion posted that fans swarmed his BMW i8 so quickly that they ripped off his right-side mirror.
