It’s a bird, it’s a plane - no it’s a drone.

Juniors Daniel Denison, Kurban Ali and senior Richard Copenhaver tested their quadcopter and hexacopter on Feb.12 during first block with Robotics teacher Jason Ness.

"We got them working, and now we will be able to film things such as football games," Denison said.

The students have been building both drones all school year.

"As we get them working better, there's a lot of possibilities. It's exciting," Denison said

The Quadcopter has a first-person camera. The Hexacopter, which has a Go-Pro, will be able to film events. Both drones are experimental.

"It's pretty neat that we get to work with drones," Copenhaver said. "It opens my eyes on how cool they are. I want to buy one myself."

Two other drone bodies are in the robotics class and students plan to build on them and have more drones to practice with, Denison said.
