Links for Dec. 21: Will FCAT be replaced by exams?
As momentum picks up for end-of-course exams in Florida high schools, state Democrats seek to influence the outcome. Rep. Dwight Bullard of Miami filed legislation this month that would tie the move to these exams with the end of the FCAT as a graduation requirement. Bullard spoke with the Gradebook about his initiative.
Enlace Florida, a USF-based nonprofit that promotes college readiness for underrepresented student groups, has released a research brief arguing that there needs to be much more to college prep than an over-reliance on Advanced Placement and related courses.
