Five-year-old Bryce Polk of St. Petersburg has been learning to throw a 4-foot cast net for about a month. On Oct. 6, he finally caught his first 2 finger mullets (see photo below with his grandfather, Jim Skillen).

Bob Kennedy of Holiday spotted this doe last week in J.B. Starkey Wilderness Park in New Port Richey. "I saw a total of five deer, but only one stayed around long enough to let me get a few shots," he wrote.
