5 favorite photos: Floating chapel in St. Petersburg, rays above the Trop
Thank you to tampabay.com readers who have shared some great photos with us in the last several days. Here are 5 of my favorites from our Community Photo Gallery:
John C. Carter of Kenneth City was driving around St. Petersburg showing local sights to a visiting guest when he stopped and snapped these pictures, above and below. "When we drove past The Pier in downtown St. Pete, I suddenly saw this chapel out on the water under the sky filled with colors of the setting sun and yelled, 'Stop the car!' from the back seat," Carter wrote. "I jumped out with my camera (luckily I'd bought it that day!) and was able to capture a few shots before the doors of the chapel opened and the wedding party came out onto the deck.
"It's one of my favorite shots; I was lucky to have been in the right place at the right time!"
Carter says the chapel was moved to Bradenton since he took the photo.
Heavenly Rays: Heather Rush took this Trop photo from her balcony at One Beach Drive on Friday.
Hoping for a handout: Elizabeth Neily snapped this photo of a Great Blue Heron on the boardwalk at Clam Bayou in Gulfport.
Upside down napper: Niki Noojin spotted her mini dachshund defying gravity while taking a snooze.
