Did you miss Tampa's Top Model tryouts? No catfights here
With dreams of hearing those magic words from Tyra Banks, young women of all shapes and styles lined an Ybor City sidewalk for a casting call for the reality show America's Next Top Model.
Some aspiring models camped overnight outside the Ritz theater, and by 9 this morning the crowd had swelled to hundreds.
Here's one St. Petersburg Times staff member who made it past the first found. Victoria Bekiempis, on left, waited six hours in line, told judges about the craziest thing she's ever done (hitched a ride on the Pan-American Highway with some strange men) and walked the catwalk.
