Let's Talk's Reader Profiles offer snapshots of tampabay.com readers, a look at the faces & personalities behind some of our loyal readers and Facebook fans. I recently chatted with Kenneth Strickland, 29, an avid follower of tampabay.com MugShots, Mouth of Tampa Bay and tampabay.com's Facebook fan page:

Profession: Strickland recently took on a new job as a market research manager at ValPak.

Where you live: Northeast St. Petersburg.

5 sites I visit in the morning: tampabay.com, Airliners.net, ESPN.com; Pilotsnpaws.org; Failblog.org

Native Floridian? No, born and raised in the Dallas area. Strickland moved to the area after getting his master's degree in political science at Ohio State University. Strickland, 29, started out teaching at St. Petersburg College, then moved into marketing research positions.

Why a tampabay.com fan on Facebook? I like to read tampabay.com features and  follow the discussions among other fans on local topics. Always fascinating to see what people are saying on Facebook. Sometimes I check other people's profiles to get to know other people in the community. On other sites, where they're anonymous, you read more garbage.

Favorite section on tampabay.com: Mugshots. I like to try to guess charges based on the looks of the mugshots. I usually can spot the DUIs pretty quickly. Once I saw someone I worked with (in a previous job).

Favorite tampabay.com blog: Mouth of Tampa Bay. My wife and I have become foodies since living here and finding so many great dining options. I like to read about restaurant news and new restaurants in the area. I also like reading about wine; we like going on wine tours.

Tampa Bay insider secret: Tour de Pizza in St. Petersburg. It's one of my favorite restaurants; the people know me there and that's what I like. The owner (Matt McClellan) really sees it as working in the community, not just making pizza.

Book on nightstand: Homefront by Kristen Tsetsi.

For fun: I started flying at age 16 and picked it up again when I moved to this area. I'm one of about 15 pilots that co-own a plane at the St. Petersburg/Clearwater airport. We operate it as a club, the Pinellas Pilots Association.

I do a lot of trips around Florida -- Broward County, St. Augustine, Cedar Key. I also volunteer with Pilots N Paws and Young Eagles,, an experimental aircraft assocon that invites kids to fly for free.

Personal site: Visit Strickland on Facebook.
