Camp Lejeune: Times staff writer William R. Colgan Air crash: Marvin Dean Renslow, 47, was the pilot of Continental Connection Flight 3407, the commuter plane that crashed near Buffalo, N.Y., He was a resident of Pasco County. The Times reported previously that Renslow didn't disclose two failed flight tests when he applied for a job with commuter airline Colgan Air.The Times also looked at pay and work conditions at commuter airlines.

Abraham Shakespeare: On Nov. 15, 2006, Abraham Shakespeare was 41 years old, had $5 in his wallet and was making eight bucks an hour. That was the day he bought the ticket that would win a $31 million Lotto jackpot, as Times staff writer Michael Kruse reported in a profile of Shakespeare.
