High-speed rail: Gov. Rick Scott is unconvinced that a proposal to transfer the project to a coalition of local governments would protect Florida's taxpapers from having to pay for construction overruns or operating costs if ridership falls short of projections.
Dead dolphins: About 50 dead bottlenose dolphins have been found on gulf coast beaches since Jan. 1, a time of the year that usually sees only a few deaths. More than half have been either newborn, miscarried or stillborn calves, leaving some experts wondering if the Deepwater Horizon oil spill is involved. Scientists found five more dolphins this week.
Love triangle murder: Dateline NBC is devoting one hour Friday to the story of how teenager Rachel Wade stabbed Pinellas Park High School senior Sarah Ludemann to death in 2009, fighting over a common boyfriend, Josh Camacho. The show airs at 9 p.m. on WFLA-Ch. 8.
