Madeira Beach memorial to honor fishermen lost in the gulf
[Lara Cerri | Times]
Shirley and John Costello pose with a model of a sculpture called The Hand of Fate, a planned tribute to those like their son, Mike, who set sail on Feb. 25, 2005. His body was never found.
A group of John's Pass Village merchants have been raising money for a memorial to Tampa Bay fishermen who have died in gulf waters. They want to pay homage to the dead, but don't know how many there are. While the true number is unknowable, we wanted to get as close as possible.
