Photo gallery: St. Petersburg kids tell Santa their Christmas wishes

Children visited with Santa in Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg to reveal their Christmas wishes. St. Petersburg Times photographer Cherie Diez was there to capture photos of the kids and record their wishes.

Their requests included a Maddon09 PSP game, a keyboard, a toy helicopter, and a "real" puppy. One girl, mature beyond her years, asked for something that couldn't be purchased at the mall.

"I just want everyone to realize how special they are and how lucky they are to be here," she said.

"Are you going after the next Nobel Peace Prize?" Santa asked.

Hear all the kids' wishes, then tell us what you're hoping for under your tree this year.
