Sandra Steers, 68, a divorced grandmother who was brought up by a very religious Methodist mother, now wears the robes of a novice Buddhist nun. Steers was ordained in a colorful ceremony at the Dhamma Wheel in Clearwater on Dec. 4.  See photos from the ceremony.

Gov. Rick Scott, 58, was sworn in today as Florida's fifth Republican since reconstruction.On a comfortable 50-degree, overcast day, Scott took the oath of office as the state's 45th governor just before noon on the steps of the stately Old Capitol before a crowd of more than 3,000 people.  See photos.
