If you're thinking about adopting a dog, Sugar (on left) and many others are waiting for new homes at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Some came from puppy mills, others from owners who moved or could no longer afford their care.

The shelter has so many cats right now, it's offering a 2-for-1 deal. If you adopt one cat, you get a second one free.

Each week the shelter shares photos of adoptable pets with tampabay.com. Take a look at the latest dogs and cats seeking homes to see if any of them would be a good match for you. Each photo has pet info and a link to the shelter's Web site.
