See photos: Gasparilla Film Festival attracts Stephen Baldwin, Gov. Crist
The little film festival that could, did. Sunday night, the Gasparilla International Film Festival — after three years of sharp growing pains — matured into what every regional showcase hopes to be, writes St. Petersburg Times movie critic Steve Persall.
There were good movies, great parties, and even a few celebrity sightings to liven up the parties. The Times' society writer Amy Scherzer was there for closing night to mingle and snap photos of the crowd. Above, BrandTampa.com founder Julie Gorzka poses with Stephen Baldwin.
Gov. Charlie Crist stayed long enough to pose for a photo with Ana Hill of the documentary Thespians.
Television personality Jerry Springer was there, too; shown here with moviemaker Melora Hardin (TV's The Office).
