This year, St. Petersburg is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the creation of one of its defining jewels, the waterfront park system. So for the rest of the year, the St. Petersburg Times plans a series of photographs focusing on the waterfront's highlights and hidden gems. View our photo gallery.


Jack Swenningsen, a 93-year-old photographer, took these two photos, above and below, recently at  our "magnificent waterfront in St.Petersburg, a place for kids, the working class, and seniors to explore, walk, fish, etc., and generally have fun and relax."
