See photos from Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3-day walk

Breast_cancer reader Elaine Stulic joined a group to cheer on a friend, Mary Healey, who was walking in the Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3-Day with the Viva Las Chicas group.

"We headed down to cheer them on today (Saturday). What a rewarding experience! These women are truly remarkable and deserve a big THANK YOU!" she wrote in a note with her photo.

In the photo are Stulic, Jackie Sinclair, Jeannine Carrier, Cynthia Ross and Karen Pace.

At least 1,500 walkers and many more supporters are participating in the Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3-Day. Participants will trek 60 miles through Tampa Bay over three days.

They have raised a minimum of $2,300, hosting garage sales and charity events. They walk an average of 20 miles a day donning the pink outfits, bright team T-shirts and ribbons scribbled with names of people affected by breast cancer. The walkers get snacks and breaks along the way. They'll set up overnight camp in tents, where they'll be entertained by a live band.

St. Petersburg Times photographers will be updating a photo gallery throughout the weekend. So, make sure to check back to see new photos.

We'd like to see your pictures, too: E-mail your pictures to [email protected] with your name and photo details in the body of the message. Then view your photos in's Community Photo Gallery.

Piper Dugmore of St. Petersburg is participating in the 3-day walk. She shared this photo as she, Amy Lounsbury and Sarah Martinez raised money outside the Pinellas Park Winghouse for the event.

Are you supporting someone in this weekend's 3-Day or participating? Let us know.
