Sister dogs reconnect, meet up in the park
We've all heard tales or had our own experiences connecting with long-lost friends or relatives through Facebook or other social networking sites. But have you ever heard about dogs reuniting with a sibling through a web search?
In April, Brianna Buck of Tampa says she Googled "Australian Cattle Dog and Boston Terrier mixes", and came across a Let's Talk blog post with pictures that looked "exactly like mine." The blog post featured pictures of a Boston Terrier/Australian Cattle mix owned by Lynn Cannella of Tampa.
Buck and Cannella later shared pictures of their dogs and both agreed the dogs looked like twins. The two also discovered that their dogs were at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay at the same time and shared the same birthday.
Buck and Cannella met with their dogs on Memorial Day at a dog park (of course) in Tampa. The dog owners enjoyed the connection, but Roxxy and Niko didn't seem so excited, Cannella says:"Forget what you read in all the feel-good stories about long lost sibling animals remembering each other's scent and romping playfully into the future. Our sisters didn't have much interest in each other.
"They were more interested in squirrel hunting. But it was still lovely for us humans to see them and remark how similarly their personalities, posturing and features were."
