Tampa architects celebrate with a green wedding in Ybor City

St. Petersburg Times writer Amy Scherzer published her last HeartBeat wedding profile of the summer with a look at a "green wedding" in Ybor City. Tampa architects Taryn Sabia and Adam Fritz care deeply about making Tampa more livable, walkable, sustainable, and wanted their wedding to reflect that.
"Our wedding spoke to who we are," Fritz said, "from the way we invited people to the flowers to having it at the historic Italian Club. Besides reducing their carbon footprint, "the best part was it all took place inside our neighborhood. It was all about our community."
The bridal party and guests walked or rode a streetcar or hotel van from their hotel to the Italian Club, where the food and wine were organic. The couple pledged to make their love as sustainable as their commitment to treat the Earth with respect. And wedding photos went into an album made of renewable materals, cotton, silk and hemp.
Scherzer now returns to covering Tampa society events and charity fundraisers. But we'd still like to see your wedding pics. E-mail your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and wedding details in the body of the message, then view your photos in tampabay.com's Wedding Photos gallery.
