What to do with the St. Petersburg Pier?

st_pete_pier.jpgThe St. Petersburg City Council endorsed Mayor Bill Foster's proposal yesterday to tear down the city's iconic inverted pyramid Pier and build something new from scratch.

The idea has already attracted a lot of support and criticism in the tampabay.com community. Take our poll and see how your fellow readers' opinions compare with your own:

Pick a plan for the St. Petersburg Pier
The St. Petersburg City Council decided Wednesday to demolish the Pier, which has struggled to attract with its mix of restaurants and retail. What attractions do you think the Pier should have?
Keep it simple, limit it to fishing docks, marina space, aquatic sports and park space.
Event space for weddings, reunions, and birthday and graduation parties.
Same as now, mostly restaurants and retail.
Night clubs and concert venues.
