Your photos: A meeting with Clearwater astronaut Nicole Stott

Thanks to reader John Sullivan of Clearwater for sharing pictures and highlights from his meeting with Clearwater astronaut Nicole Stott on Saturday. Stott made her first public appearance in the Tampa Bay area since spending three months aboard the International Space Station last year, as officials named her Nicole_stottan ambassador of the Clearwater Airpark.

Sullivan said the best part of being there was getting to interview Stott about her record-setting space milestones. He wrote:

"Never before on any of the shuttle launches was an astronaut making her first flight to space when going to the Internatinal Space Station. They had all been in space before.

"Normally NASA wants to see how an Astronaut handles space (some spend the entire first ride completely sick, never recover, and can’t wait to get home). With Stott they knew they had the confidence to give her a long-duration space trip right off the launch pad, first try. She went up on STS-128 which turns out to have been on Discovery, not Endeavor! So she will be going up on 3 Shuttles in the span of 14 months – still a record, but not ALL 3. She will have launched twice aboard Discovery, where her Space Experience started and landed with."

We'd love to see your favorite photos from the weekend. Here's how to share your pics with us:
