Your photos: Owl rescued by Odessa family

IMG_0419 readers Tom and Becky Mosca shared their tale --and some photos -- of rescuing an owl that landed on the lanai at their Odessa home.

The owl tore their screen in three different places to get inside, they wrote. "We think it was trying to escape an attack from a larger predator bird, possibly an eagle or large osprey.

"Obviously exhausted, he wouldn't wake up."

The Moscas then called wildlife officials to come to the rescue. After 10 days, the owl was brought back to the Mosca home. "We even got to pet him," before he was released," they wrote.
