When Lazaro Arbos auditioned for American Idol, he was familiar to several folks with ties to the Tampa Bay area. Lazaro was part of a Times story in 2004 called Sean's echo. It told how the parents of another child who stuttered were able to help Lazaro when their own son, Sean, died at age 10. They donated the device that had helped their son with his stammer to Lazaro.

Late in the day, he and the other pool reporters were summoned into the White House Map room for an unannounced event, marked “urgent.” Here is the audio of Obama's second, official oath of office.
