Davis unveils plan for elderly

Speaking before the Florida Council on Aging in Tampa on Tuesday morning, Jim Davis detailed a six-part "Security for our Seniors" plan.

The Tampa Democrat said the state should band with other states to purchase prescription drugs in bulk as well as join Illinois, Vermont, Wisconsin and other states that get drugs from Canada. He also called for investing in stem cell research and said he would review hurricane evacuation procedures to ensure seniors have adequate time to flee and find shelter. Read the plan here.

In other campaign news, Davis will unveil his second television commercial Wednesday at a 10:30 a.m. news conference in Tallahassee.
