May the best dressed man not win
Charlie Crist may be the more dapper candidate for governor, but Esquire magazine has endorsed Jim Davis, he of Jos. A. Bank suits. Oddly enough, the endorsement says Davis is best positioned to carry on Jeb Bush's work.
"In his eight years in office, he balanced business promotion with environmental protection, mixed fiscal conservatism with social centrism, and promoted education policies that made few concessions to that issue’s fringe elements -- evangelical Christians and the teachers’ union. The candidate most likely to maintain this commendable pattern is the Democrat."
The magazine weighs in on other Florida races. Among them, calling for a write-in candidate over U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville. Same for U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, who "plays the race card like a poker champ."
