Will Crist pass over legislators for jobs?
We've heard some Buzz lately about Charlie Crist not wanting to pick any legislators for positions in his administration, in part because he doesn't want to see special elections to fill those positions. So we asked the gov-elect about that.
"Inaccurate,'' he said. "That's not a fact. you may or may not (see lawmakers named), but it's certainly not because of any predilection as to not wanting to have special elections. i just want the best and the brightest that we can recruit to help the people. Whether they're from the legislature or Fort Myers or Jacksonville or wherever they're from doesn't overly concern me as long as they come there with integrity and a public-minded spirit. I don't care what their party is, I don't care if they've served in the legislative branch or not, just that they're good people."
