Poll: Dean up 20 points

A poll conducted this week for the Florida Chamber of Commerce shows Republican Charlie Dean up 20 points over Democrat Suzan Franks in the Senate District 3 contest.

The survey of 400 likely voters was conducted by Kitchens and Associates June 17-18, with a margin of error of 4.5 percent. Fifty-two percent of respondents identified themselves as Democrats; 43 percent said they are Republican.

The poll also looked at Gov. Charlie Crist's popularity in the district. He had a favorable rating of 90 percent, compared with a new Strategic Vision survey that had Crist with a 73-percent approval rating.
