Services for Ralph Gonzalez
AP: Sheriff's deputies on Monday declined to release a timeline or motive in the deaths of three people, including a Republican political consultant, whose bodies were found last week.
Ralph Gonzalez, 39, his roommate, David Abrami, 36, and a friend, Robert Drake, 30 were discovered by deputies who got a worried call from a North Carolina woman looking for her boyfriend. The men were believed to have died days earlier. Authorities found weapons and signs of struggle.
"It's still under investigation," Orange County deputy Carlos Padilla said. "The autopsies were Friday, but the homicide detectives were wanting to interview more people. They try to do them as quickly as they can, but at the same time they don't want to do them so quickly they miss key points."
Gonzalez was buried Monday. A former executive director of the Georgia Republican Party, he managed U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney's 2002 campaign and was president of Strategum Group, an Orlando-based political consulting firm.
Abrami, an attorney, was also active in Republican politics.
Tax records show Gonzalez bought the east Orange County home where the three were found dead in 2005 for $150,000. Deputies responding to the scene also helped tend to two hungry, dehydrated dogs.
