League of Cities to fight tax proposal

No surprise here, but the Florida League of Cities has formally taken a position against the property tax cut proposal on the Jan. 29 ballot. "It further exacerbates system that’s already inequitable, even though there are some things folks find appealing," said legislative director John Thomas.

But Thomas said the group, which met Friday in Orlando, has not yet decided how to oppose the amendment, either through manpower, money, or both. "That's still up for some discussion."
