Miami lawyer to head Elections Commission

Gov. Charlie Crist moments ago appointed Jorge L. Cruz-Bustillo of Miami as chairman of the Florida Elections Commission. The 43-year-old attorney with Diaz, Reus, Rolff and Targ LLP, already serves on the commission. He will replace as chairman Frances “Chance” Irvine and his term will last until 2011.

The FEC meets Wednesday.
