Vice president Bill Nelson?

Asked on Political Connections on Bay News 9 yesterday whether he'd be interested in VP, Sen. Bill Nelson paused. "Well,'' he said smiling, "the conventional wisdom is the Republican has to have Florida to win the presidency. And so I'm going to do everything I can campaigning to try to help out our nominee win Florida, and that means winning the presidency."

Meanwhile, Crist was gushing over McCain to The Hill this weekend, and got a mention in the New York Times that seemed to suggest Crist is not in the top tier of choices: "...Republican governors said that Mr. Pawlenty and Mr. Sanford were in the top tier of potential running mates, but that Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida and Gov. Sonny Perdue of Georgia were also contenders...."
