Wexler: Don't underestimate Crist

Barack Obama's top man in Florida, Robert Wexler, says he's absolutely convinced Obama can carry Florida's 27 electoral votes. But as pundits analyze Charlie Crist's veep prospects and whether McCain even needs him to win Florida, Crist's Democratic pal acknowledges the governor's strength.

"He's an appealing governor, no question about it,'' said Wexler (left) who's accompanying Obama to campaign for Jewish votes in Boca today. "I would never underestimate his relevance to any campaign."

As to the question of whether Crist is capable of being an attack dog, get a load of this Crist comment bout Obama to the NY Times: "I think the whole Hamas issue is a drag.” [AP Photo, files]
