Another state lawmaker supports drilling

KingSen. Jim King, R-Jacksonville, told the Buzz that he has become a more strident supporter of offshore drilling, done safely of course, given the price of gas and the tanking economy.

The St. Petersburg Times reported earlier this week that state Republican leadership is deeply divided over the subject.

King says his response to those who say drilling won't help gas prices anytime soon is: "If we had done what I'm suggesting 15 years ago, we wouldn't be where we are now. We need a starting point somewhere."
