Funeral arrangements for Krog set

A funeral service for Tallahassee lobbyist Jim Krog will be at 3 p.m. Monday (Sept. 8) at Trinity United Methodist Church, 120 W Park Ave., Tallahassee, with a reception to follow at 4 p.m. at the Governor's Club. There will be no viewing.

Krog, who managed both of Democrat Lawton Chiles' campaigns for governor and had an extensive career as a government affairs consultant, died on Thursday night at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was 60 years old.

In a statement, Krog's employer, the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, said: "We are stunned and saddened by his untimely death. His loss is not only a loss for his family, his colleagues and his clients, but also for the state of Florida . . . Jim will be remembered for his integrity, his service, his energy and enthusiasm, his stories, his insight and his humor. He provided prompt, pithy and invariably sage advice to his clients and colleagues. Jim was a pleasure to work with and be with, and we miss him already."
