Fla. senators pay up for Rays' loss

World_series_betFlorida Sens. Mel Martinez and Bill Nelson settled their World Series wager with their Pennsylvania colleagues on Wednesday, delivering to them pastries and fish from the Tampa Bay area because of the Rays' loss to the Phillies last month.

Sens. Arlen Specter and Bob Casey got Cuban pastries, Ted Peters' Smoked Fish and copies of the Columbia Restaurant's Spanish cookbook. The Florida senators will also hand over a box of citrus once the fruit ripens.

"The oranges are still a little bitter over the Rays’ loss," they wrote in a note to Casey and Specter. "It will take till the end of November for them to sweeten."
