A new Republican name for senate

...And this one has actually had the job before: former New Hampshire Sen. Bob Smith, now living in  Sarasota, has been contacting friends to feel them out about him running for Mel Martinez's senate seat reports the New Hampshire Union-Leader. Not sure, Connie, Vern, Marco will be too alarmed; Nobody knows Smith in Florida and winning a statewide election in New Hampshire is akin to winning a countywide election in Hillsborough County.

“The purpose of this letter is to simply ask for your opinion as to whether I should be a candidate. If I were to become the next Senator from Florida, the 18 years of seniority from my service in New Hampshire would make me one of the most senior Republicans in the U.S. Senate," wrote Smith. “This could be very helpful to Florida,” says Smith. “Most of you know that my conservative leadership on foreign policy, defense, immigration, entitlement reform and moral leadership were unparalelled. I would bring those same principles back to the Senate. I believe those conservative policies are desperately needed now more than ever.”
