Crist praises Obama and Clinton

Caught up a few minutes ago with Charlie Crist today and he offered kudos to Barack Obama for meeting with Republicans over the stimulus package, although the meeting failed to generate a single Republican vote in the House.

"God Bless him for reaching out,'' said Crist, who supports the package. "I'm sure all the (Republicans) had good, justifiable reasons and voted their conscience. But from a Florida perspective, this could be enormously helpful to the state - if done right - in terms of education, health care, infrastructure."

He also recounted having sought out Bill Clinton in Miami earlier this month, to discuss ways to jump start the economy. "I just wanted to say hello to him and see what's on his mind. He's so bright and gifted and gracious with him time."
