Scarborough's not interested in Senate

Joe Scarborough has no plans to run for the soon-to-be vacant U.S. Senate. "Not at all," he told the Buzz.
"I'll let Chris Matthews be the only MSNBC person focused on the Senate," Morning Joe said. (Matthews, who has flirted with a run in his native Pennsylvania, said this week he will not run.)
"What's surprising to me is how wide open it is," said Scarborough, a former U.S. Rep. from Pensacola. "For a state like Florida. you would naturally assume you would have bench 10 deep on both sides. But it seems the Democrats are moving toward selecting Alex Sink. She's a sharp, impressive woman but at the same time, even though she’s CFO, I’ve seen some polls that show her having a 12 percent name ID across the state of Florida.
"This is a difficult state to get elected in and everybody's name ID is low except for Jeb and Charlie. That's not a knock on Alex. She's the presumed Democratic nominee before she even gets in the race. You look at Republican side and some of the names have even lower statewide ID."
Asked to assess some of those Republicans, Scarborough demurred. "I'm already in enough trouble," he said with a laugh.
