Will NRSC take sides in Florida's Senate race?
The Democrats' filibuster-proof majority in the U.S. Senate could come down to Florida. So what if NRSC John Cornyn decides Charlie Crist (assuming he runs for sen) has a better shot at keeping Mel Martinez's seat in Republican hands than Marco Rubio? State GOP Chairman Jim Greer has already hinted he might take sides in that primary, so what about the NRSC? Last month Cornyn told The Hill the NRSC probably wouldn't take sides in Republican primaries, but reserved the right to do so.
"We're not endorsing any candidate in the primary yet,'' said spokeswoman Amber Wilkerson, whose office opted not to issue any press release about Rubio's candidacy.
Nor for that matter has the RPOF. But maybe the state GOP is simply exhausted after all those releases heralding Jim Greer's First 100 Days.
