Black caucus urges Crist to sign 'consumer choice' insurance rate bill

The latest group to weigh in on legislation deregulating large property insurers' premium rates: the 26-member Florida Legislative Black Caucus.

Gary Siplin urges Crist to sign HB 1171, saying it will give the state's African-American communities the choice they want in protecting their homes. Bill supporters say consumers should be able to pay more for the products they want, including insurance from a large, proven company like State Farm.
