Miami mayor Alvarez endorses Crist

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez has endorsed Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate, the second prominent Miami-area endorsement for the governor in a week.

“Gov. Crist has demonstrated his commitment to conservative values that hold government accountable and keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Floridians. He is the common sense conservative leader we need in Washington, and I am proud to lend my help to his campaign.”

Last week, U.S. Reps. Lincoln and Mario Diaz-Balart endorsed Crist over fellow Miami Republican Marco Rubio.
