State Rep. Sandy Adams running for Congress

State Rep. Sandy Adams, a Republican from Orlando, says she has filed the Federal Election Commission paperwork to run for Congress from the 24th district.

Adams, 52, is a former law enforcement officer who was elected to the Legislature in 2002. She chairs the House Criminal and Civil Appropriations Council. In a statement she released Wednesday night, Adams said her goal is "stopping out-of-control spending in Washington which is impacting each of us individually and creating significant debt."
