George LeMieux's post-Senate plans

One guessing game is over and a new one begins: What will George LeMieux do after his custodial duty in the U.S. Senate?

The commonly held assumption is LeMieux will seek some office, perhaps mount a late run for Florida attorney general or take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012.

"My guess is the political bug has got him," said former Congressman Clay Shaw, who was one of the candidates edged out by LeMieux. "He loves the process, he loves government. (The Senate) is a nice way to start a political career."
