Al Cardenas helping Alex Sink raise money?
UPDATE: Al Cardenas said in an e-mail that, contrary to Sink's understanding, his firm did not help host the Alex Sink fundraising event he attended. Rather it was a couple of his Democratic partners, former DNC finance director Carl Chidlow and former Bill Nelson deputy chief of staff Colin Mueller.

This could be awkward: It seems former state Republican Chairman Al Cardenas, a co-chairman of the Bill McCollum gubernatorial campaign and of the state GOP's Victory 2010 campaign, helped put together a fundraising reception in Washington recently for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink.
"It was probably more his people,'' Sink, when asked about the event, said of Cardenas who attended the reception but did not cut her a check. "I've known him for 25 years He was an attorney in Miami and like me always active in civic and community affairs."
Cardenas' lobbying firm hosted the event. "They represent Republican and Democratic clients and clientele," Sink said. "He's building more of a bi-partisan firm."
