Bill McCollum asks Nancy Pelosi for a favor

Bill McCollum: “I understand House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in Florida today to build support for health care reform and join President Obama at a fundraiser. Given that Rep. Pelosi has expended an inordinate amount of political capital on her push for the public option for insurance, I’d be curious to know what she thinks about CFO Alex Sink’s continued silence on this issue.  Rep. Pelosi certainly does not waiver in her convictions – no matter how misguided they may be – and I suspect she would ask the same of her fellow Democrat vying to be Governor of Florida, home to nearly 4 millions seniors.

"Since my attempts to get an answer from CFO Sink on where she stands on the public option for health care insurance have gone unanswered, perhaps Speaker Pelosi would have better luck. So I ask my former colleague as she spends the day in our beautiful state to pose the question: Does CFO Sink stand with the President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the unions who support her candidacy in supporting the public option?”
