Criticism persists for Republican who shot at Debbie Wasserman Schultz target

An opponent of U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Weston, recently shot at a target bearing her initials, creating a backlash from Democrats. State Sen. Ted Deutch denounced it on Friday and today, DNC Vice Chair Donna Brazile blasted the behavior as "outrageous."

"Using anyone’s picture, including that of a breast cancer survivor and mother of three small children, for target practice is unacceptable," Brazile said. "Even for a party that criticizes the president at every turn and puts politics ahead of fixing our nation’s problems, this is a step too far."

Last week, Republican Robert Lowry fired at a full-body silhouette with her initials written next to its head. He first told the Sun-Sentinel it was a joke but then apologized. Members of the Southeast Broward Republican Club also used assault rifles to shoot at targets including a cut-out of a man in a headdress holding a rocket-propelled grenade launcher. (video here)
