Grayson: GOP using filibusters to 'disable the government'

With U.S. Senate Democrats just barely scrounging up the 60 votes to avoid a GOP filibuster on health care, Orlando congressman Alan Grayson is trying to gain public support for a proposal to drop the threshold to 55 votes. "We've got a problem with democracy," Grayson said on MSNBC. Below is him on CNBC.

A motion to invoke "cloture" (Senate argot for breaking a filibuster) was filed a record 139 times during the 110th Congress and they are flying fast this one, too. Grayson has created a Web site (he must have 20 by now) called stopsenatestalling.com. Democrats, while in the minority, employed filibusters with gusto and in the unlikely chance Grayson's proposal is adopted it would apply to them too, of course.
