Charlie Crist, 'Statesman of the Year'
We're confident the following news will elicit nothing but kind-hearted well wishes in keeping with the season. Or not.
The Sarasota Republican Executive Committee awarded Charlie Crist its “Statesman of the Year” award last night, citing his accomplishments as governor.
“Charlie Crist, as the head of the Republican Party of Florida has accomplished a tremendous amount since his time as governor,” said Joe Gruters, Chairman of the Sarasota Republican Party. “From keeping his commitment to homeowners and reducing the property tax burden to fighting to create jobs for Floridians, Charlie Crist is a proven leader.”
“I am honored to accept this award,” said Crist, “and am looking forward to the upcoming legislative session where we will have additional opportunities to reduce the tax burden on Floridians as well as an aggressive approach to spur job creation.”
Former “Statesman of the Year” recipients include Reps. Katherine Harris, Connie Mack, and Dan Miller.
